[Boston-wkg-video] Boston IndyMedia in solidarity with CITGO?

Hello Folks,

Seems like some right-wing groups are attacking CITGO, a US company
selling Venezuelan oil, in an effort to garner support against Chavez
(elections in Ven. are coming up soon).

I was wondering if it would be okay with the collective to send a
message of support to CITGO on behalf of Boston Indymedia.

Please everyone let me know what you think. If you need more info,
venezuelaanalysis.com or you can ask Jorge or Charlie when they come
to SCAT on Thursday or you can come to the Report back on Friday,
February 24, 2006 @ 7pm
New England Institute of Art, Brookline (Tentative)

Peace,

Dear New Englanders in solidarity with Venezuela,
As you probably have noticed, with the number of e-mails going around about
AFA and Citgo, that the Venezuelan administration is being attacked on many
fronts. This being a Presidential election year in Venezuela, the pressure
on anything coming from Venezuela will be great to make it look bad. The
anti-Citgo campaign that AFA is running has been able to send over 37k
e-mails to Citgo, supposely pledging that they will not buy any more
gasoline from them.
Citgo is an American company that has a board of directors, just like any
other company here in the US. We need to counter-act this campaign by
letting the people at Citgo know that we are in total agreement with Citgo
policies. Giving discounted oil to the low income population in the US is
something we support and admire.
I need to have everyone send a solidarity message to info at citgo.com. In
particular, if this message can be sent in the name of an organization. We
need individuals to step up as well, and send your solidarity message. We
can not allow to let up on this, it is by winning these small battles that
we can prevent the neocons from claiming that they speak for all americans.
We need to show that we are a force to be reckon.

Pass it on...

Solidarity,
Jorge Marin
