It's been a few months since this release was supposed to be out. But 
when it is finished, it will be well worth the wait (we hope).

Some of the major changes will include:

1) New template system will allow much more customization of site
    appearance
2) Completely static sites (a la Mir), in multiple languages
3) Better internationalization - internationalized dates, etc
4) Overhaul of admin interface
	* New, less confusing layout
	* Privilege separation
	* Less need to access server directly -- some config options
	  will be editable over the web
	* Dictionary / translation editing interface. also, create new
	  translations using the same interface
5) New page-based editing system (like used in sf.indymedia.org)
6) Many code-cleanups and some major database changes
7) Wysiwyg editing module, for features, articles, and calendar events 
(configurable)

Because this version will be so different, there are also a few tools 
already created to make it easier to upgrade. The big architectural 
changes - the template system, the static sites, and the database 
changes -- are currently all being implemented at once, which will take 
a while to get stable. So, it may still be another month or so until 
this version is finished.
