Nowaday's law
It talks about different punishments to women who have abortions and to
whoever helps them

-From 3 to 9 months in prison for the women who have an abortion
-From 6 to 24 months in prison for whoever assists them in abortion

condemns can be attenuated (not eliminated) if the woman aborted
because she was raped or because of health problems

           The proposed law
It's called "law in defense of reproductive health" and talks about the
need for sexual education, family planning, defense and
promotion of sexual rights

-Every woman has the right to decide the interruption of the
pregnancy within it's first 12 weeks
-The doctor in charge of the abortion must present alternatives to it, must
advice women about, for example, giving away the child for adoption, and
inform her
about possible programs of economical and medical support.
-The woman that has an abortion after the fist 12 weeks, will be
punished
-Condemns will be incremented for people that practice abortion against the
woman's
will, and so if the woman dies.

On May the 28th at 10hs at the red room of the Montevideo's council will
have place a debate named "Abortion: a debate always posponed". We need, men
and women, to put this subject on the table and denegate our bodies to
be controled by someone else
