[Cyprus-english-open-publishing] International day of action against occupation of Iraq: 19 Mar - English text

Dear friends,

As you may know March 19 (Saturday) was set as a global day of action against the continued occupation of Iraq. The decision for this global mobilisation was taken in London at the 3rd European Social Forum last November and the decision has been endorsed by the 5th World Social Forum in Porto Allegre, Brasil, last month. 

As anti-war activists from the “Stop the War Alliance” – the alliance of groups and activists which played a leading role against the war on Iraq in 2003 - we feel that, Greek and Turkish Cypriots have every reason to become part of this international anti-war movement and demand the end of occupation of Iraq. 

Thus we take the initiative to invite organisations, groups and activists from both sides in order to meet and discuss our intervention on that day:

We have joined forces in the past and demonstrated together against the British bases, against the war and occupation of Iraq and against the occupation in Palestine. 

Please let us know as soon as possible whether you will participate in that meeting.
