Dear Nazen

Thanks very much for reporting this to our group.

I have different opinions on Sevgul's analysis around
the use of the terms fascists, Hellenism and Turkism
that hopefully we will have a chance to discuss among
ourselves in our next meeting.

I also feel that we owe you and the people of Baraka a
great thank you for showing sensitivity and respect to
the name and history of a place in our common island
and for the dangers in which you have put yourselves
into.

I feel that this exact sensitivity and acceptance of
each other roots and culture can trully be an
unbrakable bridge on which Peace and Justice for all
can be built.

The effort of many in the island to erase the heritage
of this land and the different cultures involved in
it, in the name of other -isms unfortunately has led
to a lot of misunderstandings among our communities in
the past.

It is through valiant efforts of people like you and
the rest of our comrades that Unity can be restored.

I also would like to mention that I am deeply moved
everytime you refer to Morfu using the Hellenic
adjective omorfo (beautiful)in our meetings.  I am
astonished to mark that I have met a lot of people in
the north preserving this ancient address to the
place, the place dedicated once to the worship of
Morfo Aphrodite (the beutiful Goddess born in our
island, according to Hellenic mythology, out of the
sea), long before Empires and Christianity set foot on
this island.

I wish that there were more people amomg the different
ethnic communities and spiritual traditions of our
island who could observe and appreciate the fact that
it is not our different cultures that devide us -on
the contrary- but the perverted politics followed by
those  in power.
