Well, since it seems tennessee imc uses the address tnimc.org, you'll need
to file for the DNS change. Basically all you need to do is change
tnimc.org an A record pointing to 128.2.41.249. Besides that, just get
your collective's consent on moving the site, or whatever you need to do
as far as local process.
Since tennessee is a relatively small site (115M) and is running the
latest release of dada (0.97), it should be a smooth transition besides
that.
The way we've been doing this is the following:
1) Post a feature giving the new address of the site (which will be
tn.dega.indypgh.org)
2) Make a static copy of the front page of the site and put that as
index.html on zero
3) Move the stuff over to dega & make sure everything is setup over there
This way the only downtime is while your site transfers from zero to dega.
Sonora took under an hour, Santacruz took about 3 (santacruz's site is
1.5G). I'd expect your migration to be comporable to Sonora's in terms of
time. Also, this way it is simple to fall back to running on zero if
something goes wrong during the site transfer.
We do need to coordinate when the DNS is changed with when we start moving
the files over, because it takes between 2 hours and 2 days for DNS
changes to get out to all of the DNS caches out there. Also, although it's
tempting, running two live sites at the same time is bad idea because then
you have content to merge from those sites.

So we can keep this conversation going in an open context.
I should be available tonight to do your migration if you want to file for
the DNS changes or decide having people click through a link for a few
days is not a big deal. [ Personal contact info removed for cc to list ]
