Hey John,

I never even heard of this software nor company. Finding it on a search
engine took some time:
http://www.enginsite.com/ssh-webdav-ftp-sftp-client.htm

Looks like you're on a Windows machine then.

The transfer rates you're facing are definately strange. Of course,
especially with the current deskaheh situation, it's hard to say whether
the problem is server- oder client-side. I would still guess it's
client-side, though, especially if the download rate is staying on this
level for a couple of hours (Deskaheh has it's hickups, but when it's
working, it works fine).

I propose you use
http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
instead of you current client.

It's open source (GNU GPL even) and - though it has a few drawbacks
compared to good commercial clients - has always serviced me well.

Or even better, use PSFTP (standalone or as part of the installable
PuTTY suite):

I'm not sure which daemon you're downloading from, but many (S)FTP
daemons support resuming partial downloads. So if Deskaheh faces the
downward spiral again, just wait until it's back and resume your
download (assuming both the server and client support it).

Greets,
Alster
