[Deskaheh-sysadmin] SSH Login breakage on Deskaheh, was : problems with deskaheh?

I have been unable to log on a terminal session with SSH for some time, 
but could SFTP, which is all I really need to do to get our backups.

However when I tried to get in just now (17:40 EST Sunday) on SFTP I too 
get this:

ssh_init: Network error: Connection timed out
