please don't change the vhosts for atlanta. i have already removed this rewrite rule once. If you noticed, there are several rewrite rules already in existance.

We have a large number of sites who link to our files we wish to allow. We have discussed this already.

the rewrite rules can not prevent any site from lining to the page with the media, and downloading diectly

we will always have to watch for leechers and take action. 

i have already developed a procedure for dealing with this.

since we don't wish for these files to be available for download even within our site, the rewrite rules don't really solve the problem, although they prevent links. but they also prevent good links.

if you need something done to atlanta, or whatever, please just contact me. we will work together on it so you don't mess up any of my procedures, etc. 

just as another example, i backup media files regularly to an offsite location. So, since the files were renamed, they were downloaded again under the new name. i have chosen to remove permissions instead of renaming. and now with the rewrite rules, i can't backup the files offsite.

please communicate with me before taking action on atlanat's site.
