I am on the dns-tech list and didn't see any conversations about it.
The last piece of correspondence mick had with the DNS list he was
asked to go to process or somewhere else that had the capacity to make
decisions on this. From talking to people it seems that this process
actually happened on the dns ticketing system. Is that correct?

Did this happen on some kind of list other people can access?

The responsibility is only in knowing (I don't know if you did but
shayne certainly did) that there were collectives and individuals who
objected to mick gaining control of the domain.
The other key problem is that it appears that a private process has
been followed. The fact that a resolution group established itself
without informing the rest of the network is a bit of a worry. How was
anyone else who was interested in the issue able to get involved?

I agree it is an entire network problem. We are pretty bad at making
open and quick decisions.

don't be scared :) I'm just trying work out how all this happened.
Stacy suggested in irc this all happened through a irc conversation
between shayne and bertagaz. is that correct?

definitely some failures of process. From the irc conversation I just
read between shayne and bertagaz it seems it was decided by two people.
I sent an email that went to imc-perth on december 19 saying that there
was no consensus in imc-melb that the dns be changed and that a
proposal would have to be put to us for consideration mid-jan when we
next met. I would find it difficult to believe that shayne didn't read
that email.
I'm not seeking to blame or vilify them but I think that whoever made
the decisions needs to take responsibility for them.
Cheers.
