Hi folks:
Several of the Illich sites have recently been getting A LOT of posts
with "news" from Cuba. There is nothing there so far that could not be
found by going to Google news and searching on Cuba, or going to Prensa
Latina, or Granma etc. its all party line fluff in my opinion
The content is coming from an anon. person who seems to using a machine
at Universidad de Informatica in Havana
The Illich admins at the affected sites are hiding or deleting this
content, which generates additional workload for us, and I think its
fair to say that Illich resources (disk space and bandwidth) are being
used as a tool of a totalitarian state entity. I see both of these
things as bad, but thats just my opnion.
So, I would like to propose blocking this site from accessing Illich,
but I'd like to hear thoughts from others here on this idea.
This block would have the effect of also preventing "legitimate" users
at Universidad de Informatica from accessing Illich sites, but I assume
that if you are living in Cuba and doing this sort of surfing you are
using some sort of secure surfing tool to hide your i.p. address so you
don't wind up in trouble with the state police.
Anyway please let me know what you think...
