Greetings everyone,

I would like to thank everyone who has already participated in my Indymedia online
survey at http://www.staff.city.ac.uk/psychstudies/Indymedia/Survey.htm

Those of you who would like to take part but either have not seen an invitation to
do so, or have not yet have time to fill in the questionnaire form, may want to
know that the survey will be running until the morning of Sunday 10th July. Nearly
150 people worldwide have completed the questionnaire, but the more responses there
are, the more likely it is that the study will represent people’s views. Please find
below a reminder of my study.

I am an MSc Media Research and Analysis student at City University in London, United
Kingdom and the Indymedia survey forms a part of my dissertation project. The purpose
of the survey is to gather basic information about the users of Indymedia. I am trying
to get some understanding of how the Indymedia websites are being used. My study aims
to shed light on wider issues that evolve around the Internet and the emergence of
global communities and how people’s role in relation to the media may be changing.
Everyone, from occasional Indymedia website(s) users to activists, is welcome to
participate in the survey.

You can either answer anonymously, or if you choose to, you can give your email address
for the purpose of possible interviews at a later stage of my study and also if you are
interested in receiving a summary of the survey results by email.

All information will be treated confidentially and will not be passed to third parties.
The results will be presented in a form that does not allow any individual's answers to
be identified. The total length of time for completion of the survey is less than 10
minutes. The survey form can be accessed via my university’s website at:
http://www.staff.city.ac.uk/psychstudies/Indymedia/Survey.htm

Should you have any queries about my study, please do not hesitate to contact me on my
email address U.J.Rannikko a city.ac.uk.

I would very much appreciate your help.

All the best,

Ms Ulla Rannikko
