Dear Glenda!
Its been a while since we communicated and a long time since we met in Dakar! That was a lovely time and I know that so great seeds were sown at that time. Thanks for your email and the leads you have provided. Here in Kenya, I am hoping that we will finally get to meet this week so that we can devise a more strategic approach from this end. But in the mean time, it doesn't hurt to communicate further and get more information. Do you have the contacts of Terres de Hommes and a contact person there? Do you know how the BUSH Radio people have handled the issue of energy?
Could you link us up with Radio Lora so that we can start sharing information and learning from their experience?
I am glad that TUC Radio is copied on this mail. It would be great to hear from you. Two months before the World Social Forum in November, Nairobi will be hosting the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. I am involved with an organisation known as Kibera Community Youth Programme, and one of the things we do is to make solar panels as a source of renewable energy. I am wondering whether we can work with TUC to do a radio documentary on the impacts of Climate Change. This documentary would capture issues like the role of the North in Climate Change and the high vulnerability of the South to Climate Change.
Lets keep talking and taking action.
Cheers,
John Bwak
