[Imc-africa] intro

hi,

I'm new on the list and would like to introduce myself.

I'm Anna, from Berlin, Germany. I have followed the plans for the IMC
during the WSF with a lot of sympathy so far, mainly by reading the list
archive.

I hadn't really thought that I'd be able to come to Nairobi since (as we
all know) flights aren't exactly cheap. But much to my surprise an
application for travel funds I had asked for was granted on friday and
so I'll join the IMC as well.

I'm not sure what I will be able to contribute, I have some experience
with summit and event reporting in Europe and am quite aware that
circumstances are very different. I have participated in coordinating
media centres, helped organise translations and information work flows.
I'd like to participate in reporting about the WSF (it will be the first
Social Forum outside Europe I'll be going to, so while usually I spend
all the time at the media centre when something is going on around here,
this time I'd like to actually spend time following the WSF.)

Anyway, I'll try to catch up as much as possible with the plans so far
and hope to be able to contribute something useful. I saw in the wiki
pages that Steffi from Berlin has offered to collect equipment - can
someone tell me how to get in touch with her?
