[Imc-africa] imc-finance money goes where?

hi all, i was a little busy this weekend so i didn't have time to respond to the
discussion before now.  i and the other folks at prometheus working on the
project are flattered that you trust us to manage all of the imc finance funds.

i have a few concerns.  for one, with the disbursement of the x-y funds, i know
that prometheus does not need more than another $1200 to $1500 out of the whole
amount.  i am not sure what other equipment is required or was part of the grant
for purchase.

i know there has been discussion of other purchases such as computers,
networking and other media gear.  prometheus is mostly a broadcast community
radio organization, and we don't know much about those things.  my main concern
is that we will be asked to make other purchases for equipment and transport
them to the imc space in nairobi, along with all of the radio equipment.  we
don't have the capacity for that currently.

i would be fine with holding the funds, and perhaps providing reimbursement to
others for equipment costs and other expenses as necessary.  what do people
think about this?  are there other organizations that would want to take on
these funds?

i don't mean to complicate the situation, but i am not sure i am entirely
comfortable with prometheus holding $6000 in funds, of which we only need half
or less.  i realize time is getting short, so if it is the consensus of the
group to give us all the money, i will go along with it.
