Hi Josh,
We are fine over here though like all of you, trying to do as much as we can to ensure that all will be well by the time the first group arrives very soon. Thanks for the offer to contribute towards accomodation. In the next few days, we will have settled on a location and the cost implications will be clearer then. All the best with your preparations and see you soon.
Kwaheri (swahili for bye)

Hello there, John --
My name is Josh Marcus, and I am travelling with Prometheus Radio Project to Nairobi. I look forward to meeting you!
For your information, I am travelling with Hannah Sassaman and JJ Tiziou and we are all arriving on the 16th of January (9:20pm), after the other Prometheus folks have already arrived. All three of us are leaving on the 5th, at 11:20pm.
If the budget turns out to be insufficient for housing, I can contribute an additional $150 towards a housing solution as well.
Thank you so much for all your logistical work!

I have attached a table containing the people coming to Nairobi, their arrival dates and other particulars. I am not sure whether such a list has already been put on the wiki and I was not sure on how to go about that. Please provide all the information that is needed on this form and if your name is not there, just add it and send back your details. Also add any other colums that I may have missed out so that we can have as much info as possible to facilitate concrete planning.
I have been waiting for the chat to begin but I think I may be too early. I thought the chat was to begin at 5 Nairobi time? Anyway, I will be online again tomorrow afternoon so we can chat. Concerning the first guest house that I had gotten that was costing 1300 USD including internet, I talked with the owner this afternoon and he informed me that the place is now fully booked during the WSF and we cannot be able to get all of it before then. This guesthouse is known as Africa Unleashed and would be okay for anyone who would want a place to stay either before or after our programme. You can read more about it at http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/AfricaUnleashed-Nairobi-17218
I think our best bet at this stage will be to get a house that is as big as possible and fully furnished, with a very spacious compound. Either this, or we get two houses adjacent to each other (or quite close together). Each of these options will ensure that people are not crammed together and there is sufficient space to interact, relax and take in the savannah sunshine even as we learn, teach, brainstorm and strategise in workshops. The problem with established guesthouses is that they have just realised that they can do great business in January and are thus hiking their prices drastically. As such, many are now insisting on price per person as opposed to hiring an entire place. Kipp informed me that the accomodation at WSF will only be available during WSF, so its not an option for us.
I wait to hear what many of you think on this issue before I can proceed to make any verbal commitments with landlord/s
Ciao,
John
