As I understand it, UC-IMC is an official not-for-profit organization 
that holds the bank account for the Indymedia network.  Imc-finance 
makes decisions about where the money goes and UC-IMC disburses 
it.  That's separate from the UC-IMC in general, and all its other 
projects, which raise money and decide what to do with it on their 
own.  (the uc-imc is the 501c3, for those of you familiar with U.S. 
non-profit code, acting as an umbrella for several projects.)

So, conceivably imc-finance would decide to grant our request, and at 
the same time, very independently, the UC-IMC could have a fundraiser 
or grant us money from some other part of its operation.
