Dear Jennifer and All!,
Pardon me for the silence. My colleague Oloo had travelled to India and I did not access my mails as I was coordinating a youth conference on climate change. Am pleased to inform you all that this meeting saw the birth of the Africa Youth Initiative on Climate Change. Currently, most of these youth from across Africa and the world are participating in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference that is being held here in Nairobi. Many of them will be back for the World Social Forum and hopefully join us for some of our Indymedia sessions.
Concerning the visa letter, I will liaise with Oloo to find out if the Kenya Social Forum can handle it. Since he accesses this mailing list communication, I will just follow-up with him on the same. Unfortunately, the meeting that the Kenya team was to have last saturday never took off due to some logistical hiccups but we are now much more in touch with Maseno. I did have a meeting with Judith and a colleague of her last week you will be hearing much more from them. They have some very practical and innovative ideas concerning the way forward and we agreed that they should just communicate directly to the group to avoid delays.
Cheers,
John
