Dear friends,


Thank you for sending me the bulletins of  GlobalYoung Greens and the invitation to join the Independent Media Centre (IMC) during the World Social Forum in Nairobi nexyt year. I am soory to reply to you so late as I was out of the country.

I shall be pleased to join the IMC


I am the Assistant Editor of the Mauritius Times. Our newspaper, founded in 1954, The newspaper was founded in 1954 to fight primarily for the independence of the country which was attained in March 1968.


I am also the Secretary of the Mauritius Union of Journalists (MUJ). The union was founded in 1984 and has been in the forefront in the fight for the preservation of press freedom in our country. The union englobes journalists of the written and spoken press and freelancers.


The Union is affiliated to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ),  and to the Union of African Journalists (UAJ).


Apart from defending journalists' rights, the union has organised training courses for journalists. Two have already been held with the help of the Commonwealth Journalists Association.

I am the President of the International Society for Human Rights (Mauritius Section) which is based in Frankfurt, Germany.
The section exists in Mauritius since 1988.

I am the Mauritian Correpondent of the African Press Agency (APA) which has its head quarters in Senegal.
