[Imc-africa] News from Uganda-March and April -deaths due to forest land sale.

1.During the month of March,Uganda spent 7 days with no judge or  lawyer, handling any case.The  aim of the  stricke  was to show the anger and as awarning to the  gorvernment to show respect to the Human rights  and the judiciary.
  The cause was, the rearresting of some "Rebels",people assumed to be fighting with arms to overthrow the gorvernment . 
  They had been granted bail and they were rearrested inside the court premises. Some of the  lawyers of the accused people  were also assaulted by police in this scuffle .They have already   filed their  case against the police officers.
  b.The rearrested people were taken away from Kampala to adistance of 230 kms  away  and charged with Murder.The high court how ever has once again ordered the  lower courts  where they were taken to produce them in Kampala.
  c.They ve not appeared as the prison warders claim, they dont have fuel.
  d. Fuel is becoming  scarce as the roumours says  that the Somali truck owners have stopped their vehicles from ferrying it to uganda  because of Uganda's involvement in Somalia.Our troops  are in Somalia.
  2.TODAY THE 12.04.2007
  As i write now there has been a demonstration.It began at around 10.00 am East african starndard time and lasted  for over 4 hours.    At  start   it was peacefull not untill a  vehicle which was driven by   an indian knocked  dead two demonstrators.Ive been afew  metres from this accident .The un confirmed report say that the Indian's  car  had been sorrounded by the mob.He didnot stop but just moved ahead .The  demonstrators tried to run after the vehicle and i heard that the  one driving it was caught and killed.As   i report now ,4 indians have been killed and that property of some of them has been looted
  b.Ive seen one semi trailer on fire.c.The military police has been brought to disperse the demonstrators
  .d.Ive recieved two cannings on my left  arm as i was trying to go back home.But am fine.
  3.Cause.
  The gorvernment of the Republic of Uganda is  abought to sell aforest area of 7000hectares to an investor who  is  indian  to grow sugarcane for sugar production
