It was great receiving this email from you and learning more about what is happening there in Tanzania. It is indeed very exciting to know of such interesting alternative media initiatives in Tanzania. I am especially interested in the community radio station that you started. As you may be aware, Indymedia Kenya together with other Indymedia collectives from across the world also started a campus and community radio station known as Equator FM. This radio station is based at Maseno University in western Kenya. From January next year, we are hoping and working towards full broadcast. It will thus be interesting if we can share more about our respective community radio stations and zero in on ways of further collaborating.

It is again holiday time. I bring you the greetings from FADECO 
(www.fadeco.org) in Tanzania. Many of you have known FADECO through me 
directly of through my colleague John Kibuuka. Just to mention that he John 
has moved back to his country in Uganda and he takes with him the wealoth of 
knowledge and experience and linkages that he gained while we worked 
together. I am now working to induct new young men and women to handle the 
increasing workload and new developments.

This year has seen FADECO expand its ICT work. Our resource telecentre has 
become very busy offering basic computer training skills to youths. 2 more 
sites were connected to internet via wireless connection. The Eden Centre 
for Appropriate Technology (www.ecat-fadeco.org) has become operational and 
the latest development, has been the establishmnet of FADECO COMMUNITY RADIO 
STATION. In the course of the year, an IT workshop was help at FADECO on 
thin client networks.

This means, all of you are invited to celebrate our achievements and to pave 
way for the future of the people in rural Karagwe, who are direct 
beneficiaries of the services rendered by FADECO. Let me stop here by 
wishing you all a happy Christmas season.
