Dear colleagues,
Pity I will not be coming with the Ugandan delegation since we are beginning
intensive teaching on 8th January to make up for time lost since Makerere
university has been closes since early November. I know i will miss the
conference!

>> Hi All,
>> A thousand aplogies for the rather late information on accomodation. I was running up and down together with some colleagues and I finally found another place in Lavington that I think is better than the one I sent last time. Lavington is about 15 minutes drive from the city centre and the city centre is about 25 minutes drive from WSF venue. We found a house in Lavington that has five bedrooms and a separate big room that can probably be used for the radio assembly. It has a huge one acre compound that is ideal for anyone who wants to camp. It also has sufficient bathroom facilities and is fully furnished. The cost is Ksh 180,000.
>>
>> My own feeling is that it can host 30 people comfortably. However, I suggest that once the first team arrives by next week friday, we shall decide together if there is need to get a smaller apartment nearby or not. In addition, we could also explore the option of some Maseno people staying with relatives or in their own houses here in Nairobi, then we provide transport for them.
>>
>> Let me explain at this point that accomodation is now the most costly thing in Nairobi because it is now clear to all (thanks to the media) that all hotels and guesthouses are fully booked and Nairobians are now being mobilised to open their houses for home stay (at a cost of 35 dollars per day!) Against this background, prices are just not what they were a few weeks ago. I will wait for your response today before I can make a downpayment on the house tomorrow.
>>
>> Concerning airport pick-up, we will be at the airport with a friend's car and you can pay a subsidised price. Anywhere between 10 and 50 dollars, or whatever you can manage. Am now on my way to get the letters for the comrades from Mali, Nigeria and Cameroon and will scan and send them later this afternoon. Fabian sent 700 euros to facilitate any costs at this stage.
