hi there -- here are my thoughts on these questions. perhaps other
people could jump in! andy, john, or fabian may have more accurate
answers. terna may also have some things to add, or zoe or daniellle or
steph or more...

i believe nairobi, kenya is 3 hours ahead of GMT -- and i believe
nairobi is 8 hours ahead of eastern standard time on the east coast of
the USA.

this is going to depend on a few things, including 1) reliable internet
for an ongoing stream, 2) what the attendees of the IMC convergence are
able to do/choose to do based on the logistics on the ground. there are
a lot of questions still, and we'll only be able to know what is
possible in terms of building out a stream once more of us are there in
the house in karen, and we have a sense of the work that is possible and
that people want to execute.

live streams from the world social forum would be great, but are
difficult to commit to when we don't even know which forums folks want
to attend, and what capabilities the machines we are bringing will have
at the WSF site.

prometheus was able to get a few old computers loaned for audio editing
and potentially for streaming, and folks like josh marcus, who have
prior experience setting up streams, will be attending too. but it's a
lot more likely that these will be running from the site in karen.

many people with skills in audio editing and 'podcasting' are arriving
onsite in the next week, so i do expect that there will be interviewing,
audio editing, and production of interesting and amazing content. if
people attend the world social forum, collect audio, and bring it back
to the convergence center there will be a chance that we can make daily
highlights.

in terms of whether or not the stream can be live 24 hours -- i'd say
that it isn't too likely (thought i may be wrong) but to have a regular
stream that people can listen to around the world is an amazing goal and
can only serve to deepen the relationships between the african IMCs and
global allies.

i've seen streams like this set up in the past, where audio from other
places could be dropped into/syndicated into another stream, but a linux
expert would have to respond to this one.

would this be a better conversation to have in scype, and then to try to
record for later streaming?

there will be many languages in the roster of attendees at the
IMC-africa convergence space, but another person will have to answer
this particular questions!

it would be fantastic for audio content, photos, blogs/other writing, to
be posted at kenya.indymedia.org/news -- if the internet connectivity is
reliable and there are enough machines then there will be a lot of
chance to populate that page. is posting on the newswire working okay?
