[Imc-africa] WSF imc-radio support : diffusion proposals

dunk here, working on the  ::Global Listening Nodes:: support project here from barcelona

regarding promotion of the imc-radio support for WSF, there seems to be very little anywhere and id propose a few things seeing as this time 2 weeks we will be in the middle of things

1 - imc-kenya 
i asked the question some days ago as to where would be our main "communication space" when WSF is on... imc-kenya page, or imc-docs page, or both or other, im thinking we are not fully sure as to where this should be? correct me if we are clear. im thinking imc-kenya should be the space, therefor we should start activating it now...

its there for us to use, so lets use it.  i put up a thread  a few days ago, to see how the imc-kenya is working and also to start to get it more activated:

2 - there is no mention of our project on the WSF official site, not even in the media section

have WSF been approached to mention our project(s), if not can we do so, what is best way, content etc. im sure others have far better grasp and overview of this project to pull something together...
if they have been approached and refuse to mention our project let us know please.

3 - imc-org
again there is little or no mention of our project here

UPCOMING IMC COVERAGE section

4 - general diffusion : 
imc feature (many languages, many imc´s)
id propose a brief feature to be drawn up outlining project and especially how non kenyan nodes can still participate and are encouraged to do so by collaborating and setting up a ::listening node::
im not sure exactly where is the best place for people to click to view, learn, participate. im thinking the page:

id like to draw up a rough idea for the feature in relation to the ::global listening nodes:: section. ive already told people that such a thing will be online soon, and ive asked them to translate. perhaps we can have it translated into many languages, including local kenyan dialects?, for general diffusion.
id propose that this feature get put onto the feature section of kenya-imc ASAP 

5 - "communiçation map"
im particularly interested in trying to get a sense of this event and the idea of a global listening network being communicated somehow, something like a cluster map to show where in the world has "tuned in", or something more advanced: perhaps color coded nodes, some flashing to represent different levels of participation: 
physical node,  playing audio on a computer, restreaming on terrestrial radio,  restreaming on net radio, participating in a many node discussion at present..... (perhaps this is not feasible but i think it would be a wonderful organic thing to see, perhaps theres examples already of this, im not aware of them as im not much of a teky, perhaps others know of...?
this "communiçation map" could also be repeated in kenya, a big big ground or wall simple painted mural of earth with the nodal points registering same info as the digital map. 
(we unsuccesfully attempted to paint such a ground mural at the imc-ie mayday centre in 04 in ireland, but were not given permission, it would have been a nice thing to have done...)

6 - short audio / video promotion clip
to promote what were doing, where, how, how others can participate, etc. less than a minute long, showing photos, sounds, clips from kenya etc....
perhaps ask the imc-argentina could we use part of "in the eye of the storm" which shows so well the strange development of the imc network

i hope this helps, im excited by the project and think it will be great, who knows what way it could go...?
2 nights ago i got confirmation of the first :: listening node:: a lovely intimate hacklab/ workshop social centre space whose door opens onto a busy pedestrian barrio of gracia here in barcelona: la quimera. so first step finally established (im working out of it now as i type), really nice collective and the barrio has a long tradition of political activity.
i updated the indy-docs wiki to include the :listening nodes: part of the project and this news

regards to all, sorry for being a bit absent over last few weeks, some difficult living situations here in barcelona, temporarily sorted now. i hope to be of whatever assistance i can be here, just ask, and ill try my best.
