[Imc-africa] website issues

hi,

i'd like to offer my help again - with cleaning the newswire, helping
features along, editing things like contact info etc.

for this i, too, would need admin access. i've done this before, e.g.
during the last g8 in russia, when we had an international team to help
the russian-language imc who had too much to do to deal with this alone.
we had a temporary access to the site which we don't have anymore.

it's not quite clear to me who will be taking care of the site - imc
kenya or the imc africa convergence group?

it would be helpful if someone stepped forward and said whether it's ok
and wanted that others help with the site, and tell us where to get
passwords, if that's desired.

in any case i think this should be settled soon and whoever is 'in
charge' should maybe decide on some basic editorial guidelines  -
typical for indymedia sites would be something like the UK indymedia
editorial guidelines:

we also used them for the temporary international coverage in russia
last summer where we had a temporary english language sub-site:

what we did was basically write up features based on information about
the summit protests that were posted to the newswire, and collected
additional information. some was added to the features, and we also had
categories on what others reported on the g8

in case imc kenya is NOT the site we should be using for the wsf
coverage i think this should also be said really quickly now - we can
then look for an alternative. it's all possible, but i think people will
start searching indymedia websites soon for information about the wsf, no?
