CMFD (Community Media for Development) Productions is looking for young,
energetic scriptwriters in Kenya to participate in a one-week workshop to
help draft a radio drama to promote women's rights and raise awareness
about the Africa Union Protocol to the African Charter on Human and
People's Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa.
The radio drama is part of the Media for Africa Women's Rights (MEWOR), a
3-year project launched by FEMNET and FAHAMU that uses communication as a
key strategy. The project includes the radio drama, cartoon strips
targeting younger audiences, and a series of current affairs radio
programmes.
The radio drama will be developed through a participatory and consultative
process, which includes input from a wide range of partners. We are
looking for scriptwriters who:
-Have experience writing drama, preferably for radio, but theatre script
writers will also be considered.
-Work well as part of a team.
-Work well under a short deadline.
-Demonstrate an open mind, and are able to incorporate diverse perspectives.
-Have an awareness of and interest in women's rights.
Access to email for planning purposes is essential. Interested
scriptwriters are asked to forward CVs and if possible samples of their
