[Imc-africa] reaching john

I got a call from Oscar from Kanegmi today. He was upset because he had
spent 3 hours on a story in an expensive cyber cafe, but his story did not
seem to upload. Could an admin check with the site to see if anything with
Oscar as the author showed up? Is was a story about the police (sorry I
could not understand any more than that).
After it would not upload, he printed it out to edit and rewrite, showed it
to some folks in a nearby bar, and they tore it up and threatened him
because they saw him as "stirring up trouble." So he says it is gone. We
had a very short time on the phone, but I promised to look into whether the
site is publishing.
Oscar says Christopher is okay - I was worried because I had not heard from
him. Kangemi has been calm.
I gmail chatted with John last weekend - not since.

UC IMC sent ~$800 in donations to Kenya IMC through John's bank account, as
per the consensus by IMC Kenya. We are about to sent another ~$600 once we
confirm the first was received and distributed.

cheers,
Danielle
