Etrange Rencontre 2008 - 24-30 août - Burkina Faso

The second edition of the « Etrange Rencontre » that we can translate as 
« The Strange Meeting » will happen in the end of august 2008 in 
Ougadougou (Burkina Faso) country of Thomas Sankara.

In two words it is a kind of an Alternative Social Forum; a meeting of 
youngs associatives activists ( angry or enrage....) from Europe (mostly 
frome France, but not only...) and from Africa ( mostly from West part, 
but not only) and who thinks that the appropriation of NTIC and 
communication are important issues for the socials mouvements.

For introducing more details of the initiative, we had the idea of 
organizing a first meeting in Paris with youngs and less youngs in 
struggles/ activist-e-s to discuss of this international meeting and 
participate thus to this achievement.

*The date of the Wesnesday 12 march 19h had been reserved at the CICP, 
green hall ( 1er floor)*

We will be host on the premises by the CEDETIM and there will have 
others organizations invited: AITEC / AMORCES / Echanges et Partenariats 
/ ATTAC/ ZEP/ Génération Palestine / Vamos! / ISHTAR / Sud Etudiants / 
Afaspa / LCR....

*Strange meeting of the youth Europe-Africa?*

A meeting like no others, a social forum weird, self-directed in Africa, 
bring together the conscience youngs of two continents, and even more.....

Some youngs in struggle, in resistance, searching alternatives for 
another world , more just, with solidarity, a world for everybody.

The first edition took place in Benin, in Cotonou at the end of august 2007.

Two newspapers had been printed at this occasion and I think that it's 
the best way to understand the spirit of this event ( in particular the 
number 2 - It's mainly in French, but some english two...)

In 2008, in the month of august for the second consecutive year, the 
« network » will meet during one week in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso.

One of the poorest country of the world but who paradoxically have so 
much to offer....

Notably the one to welcome 300 to 500 youngs coming from the two 
continents to debat, exchange, build together another world, like there 
are doing allong the year, in there associations, collectives, and in 
there lifes.

We think that you can be ours for this new edition, and we invite you to 
join the network now, to jump and the bandwagon.

To know us better, and to exchange with you, we create a collective blog 
in witch will post daily new informations for our activities.
