[Imc-alternatives] irc logs and next steps

Hi everyone,

Here is a link to the log of the irc meeting Sheri, Don, Magius, Oicsen and 
I had a week or two ago:

In it we came up with a number of steps we need to take.  I'll consolidate 
them here:

1. Collect URLs of similar and other inspiring projects and describe their 
main features
2. Focus our goals and determine how we wish to differentiate from existing 
projects
3. define how we wish to integrate alternatives in the existing indymedia 
structure
4. Invite others to participate (techies, people in the indymedia network, 
people outside of the network, etc.)

The basic crux of these steps is to suggest that we do some work on this 
list to define the Alternatives IMC project in the context of 
already-existing projects on-line that deal with alternatives, as well as 
how the Alernatives IMC will fit into the indymedia network.  (we talked in 
the irc meeting about how we'd like to develop the alternatives IMC site 
into a resource that operates slightly differently than most existing 
IMCs)  After we define what we're trying to do, then we'll spread the word 
and invite any and all volunteers to become involved.

I'm going to go through the log and put the URLs we discussed in the 
meeting into an e-mail so we can start discussing them.
