Hi Alisa,
This is great!

I like the idea of selecting some lists and some individuals to talk with
first, then seeing what kind of response there is. Word will probably
spread around pretty quickly, which is fine. I've started to sort of
circulate information about the project among people in Philadelphia and a
couple of friends elsewhere but I haven't sat down to ask anyone particular
to join yet, which I plan to do soon.
I'm not that worried about that big an onslaught of volunteers -- if that
were our only problem . . . ! I just know we're still honing in on the
character of the project, still trying to figure out what code we're going
to use, etc., and think, strategically, we're not quite ready for a
super-public call out. But we are definitely ready to get some helpers in
the content working group.
Thanks, Alisa, for your enthusiasm! Let people know they can join the
e-mail list (through http://lists.indymedia.org) and ask them to send a
little introduction. If we get enough helpers and we actually start to do
work, maybe someday we'll open an imc-alternatives-editorial list.
