[Imc-alternatives] Hidden module question

Hey all,

First, thanks to ekes for the Hidden module.  Just installed it;
really fantastic and well done.

Does anyone know how York Indymedia was about to allow people the
ability to view their hidden nodes?  Since the nodes are unpublished
the general public can't access them.  I have set the ability for all
roles to access hidden nodes, but that doesn't seem to be working.
We're building on Drupal v5.2.
