Hi imc-alternatives,

There wasn't a whole lot of activity in the #alternatives chat room
yesterday at 22:00 gmt, but ekes, davo and I did get a chance to
touch base. Here is a quick summary of the previous week's advances
in the alternatives project.

1) PUTTING UP A BETA SITE:
There has been inspired discussion about putting up a "traditional"
Alternatives IMC site as soon as we have drupal code for one, most
likely sharing the PhillyIMC's revised code. We would add
community-building features to the site in the kind of monthly
roll-out pattern generally suggested by the agile-development model
(http://www.openplans.org/projects/imc-alternatives/agile-development).
There was general enthusiasm for this idea.

2) REVITALIZING the CODE-TRACKER
Aaron K. and Dave F. connected over revitalizing the code-tracker
Dave set up a while ago for the alternatives project:

3) USER-STORIES DISCUSSION
There were posts going through the user-stories
http://www.openplans.org/projects/imc-alternatives/user-stories one
by one to explore their technical possibility as well as the
political reason we would pursue each of them.

4)NEWSWIRE/KNOWLEDGE-BASE DISCUSSION
The discussion about how to balance a beta Alternatives site's
"solutions-wire" with its knowledge-base and networking functions
took off in earnest:

5) WIKI/WYSIWYG DISCUSSION
There was talk about the difference in offering site visitors the
option of using WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors on our
participatory pages:

bottom-liner:
