Another solution may be to simply put a "skip to content" anchor tag
just after the body tag, display:hidden so it only appears to those
with screen readers.

<div id="skipit"><a href="#content"></div>
...
<div id="content">
<h2>Article Title</h2>
...
This is actually common practice and is actually employed and
supported by the W3C and WAI: http://www.w3.org/WAI/sitehelp.html.
