Hi,

I'm Aaron Kreider. I've been working full-time on open-source
activist-networking software called "Activism Network" / "Campus
Activism" since Jan 2002, mostly by myself, with the hope of spawning
dozens of local, state, regional, national, issue-based, and
organizational based networks. I live in Philadelphia.

Anyways, I'm very interested in working together - if it makes sense to
do so (and I hope it does!). Basically my software could be included in
any imc installation to create local activist directories that are
directly tied into national/international ones.

...

Are people familiar with the up and coming new ZNet site (zmag.org)?
Unfortunately I cannot find the link to the beta... From my
understanding, what they're trying to do is the closest thing to what
imc-alternatives is up to (greater interactivity). They are several
months (or possibly a couple years) behind schedule (target was March
last time I heard), but I'd guess it should come out sometime this
year. How people use it might be a good indicator of "what works" /
"what doesn't". ZNet is probably the highest-traffic left of liberal
activist website in the US and has a massive base of subscribers
(200,000 to their email list). If I remember correctly they aren't
using drupal (does anyone know different?)... I think they might be
interested in releasing/sharing their code as open software.

Aaron
