Jay and I have arranged to meet on the Indymedia IRC (imc-alternatives
room) at 3:00 UTC (11pm in Philly, 3pm in Aotearoa) to experiment with
options for conference calling. One option is to use Blasterisk (an
asterisk server run by the Blag folk in the UK) which you can connect
to using a landline, VoIP phone or softphone (applications like
WengoPhone). There is a list of free softphones here:
https://wiki.blagblagblag.org/BLASTERISK#Softphones

Just below the list is information about how to use the guest account
to login to the server. I have emailed them for an account but no
response so far.

To find out when this irc meeting is in your local time you can use this tool:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

They also have a tool for finding a suitable time for people from a
range of timezones to teleconference, which would be useful if we want
to have a launch team voice chat:

BTW Jay, I hope you don't mind me opening this up to the group?
