[Imc-alternatives] [introduction]

Hey everyone,

My name is Michael Hodgson, I live in Lancaster (though from WA state
originally). I posted to the list a few days ago, but did not see anything
come through, and since I seem to be having trouble receiving list emails
lately (but hopefully that is over) I will send this again.

I have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, but not much experience (yet)
with various programming languages. I am interested in learning, and will
take on some projects, such as learning PHP to better prepare myself for
learning Drupal, but this will need to wait till I pass my certification
exam in OT. Still, I am a great communicator, have been an activist and
organizer for some time, and I have great ideas and insight (incite as
well). In Lancaster we have been gearing up to start our own IMC for at
least the past year now, officially. We are currently searching for
knowledgeable local folks in open-source programming languages, and we
basically are inspired greatly by the intentions of the alternatives
project, and want to do something along the same idea. So, we do have one
person specifically experienced in Drupal in our collective, and if it
means convincing him to join alternatives to get your site up, and then
migrate the package to us with modifications, that can work also. I know
some website designers locally willing to dedicate time to non-profit
adventures and I can talk to them too. Looking forward to working on this
ambitious and exciting project.

Oh, branding--I think keeping it IMC-Alternatives is perfect, and fitting
since everyone is coming to know it that way.
