I signed up for Crabgrass.  I'm going to try and generate some interest 
in sharing data since they have plans for things like a group directory 
(which I'm doing too) - also they might be interested in sharing info 
about people, events, and other things.

I'm currently working on implementing a customized version of Activism 
Network for grassroots groups fighting power plants in the US 
(particularly coal plants, but other ones too).  It's going to be 
including a lot of US government data.  Hopefully I'll be able to fit it 
in with the rest of my sites (activismnetwork/campusactivism.org).  On 
the "alternatives" theme, I might see if we can map "good" power plants 
(and perhaps efforts to start new renewable sources of energy) - wind, 
solar, and perhaps geothermal  (hydro is more of a mixed bag, and 
biofuels that come from industrial crops are pretty bad).  It'll 
probably depend on whether we can get data on those, and whether it fits 
with the site's mission.  We might try to get international data on it 
at a later date...
