[Imc-alternatives] any thoughts about the site name?

But we are not talking about the name here, we are talking about the url,
the domain name. In the end nobody will care whether it is imc-alt,
alternatives.indymedia or alternativesolutionschange.indymedia.org,
because they will simply be looking at what the site has to offer. I think
simple is always the best choice with domain picking, and we need to hope
that we will reach out past the indymedia audience. Just because the url
was short, does not mean the actual name of the site is the exact same.
The url is just the key you enter to find the site. Considering things
like short term memory, if I am telling someone about the project, and all
the perks, on the streets, they will say "what is the web address?" The
simpler the url, the better for them to remember in the case neither has a
pen and paper. And there is the bumper sticker and other simple methods of
attention getting.
What I am saying is exactly related to "who is the audience?" We need to
think carefully about this. Perhaps as someone said earlier, or on
crabgrass, we should consider having a few different urls point to the
same site?
