Thanks for responding. Thanks to everybody who has responding to my query.
The Kansas City Indymedia site is pretty moribund at the moment, but I
might be inspired to call another "re-launch" meeting if we can move our
site to Drupal. dadaIMC is just too old-fashioned for what is needed in
a contemporary news CMS. Drupal would allow us to create special pages
for the front page, easily add blocks, create special pages, add news
feeds from local blogs, and so on.
I hadn't thought of simply starting fresh with a Drupal install and
keeping the old site around as an archive running dadaIMC. We could
always transfer old stories in the future when we find somebody to write
the scripts. I'm nearly at the proficiency required to write such a PHP
script, but right now I'm focused on learning Java and Flash in order to
find employment.
