[Imc-alternatives] current code situation (was: Open Forum edit)

I am still waiting for our lpimc drupal-tech to get back in touch, and
respond to about four different emails with ranging topics and requests. He
does not live in Lancaster so it is not like I can just invite him over for
dinner or something. But, speaking practically and from a urgent
perspective---seems like drupal, if we took a poll, would win out on this
list, including the drupal-techs from lpimc-dev, one of which is on this
list already. I think what is happening, as far as the discussion goes, with
a universal code sounds great, and makes sense, but all I have hear so far
tells me this is still a few years off, and lpimc and imc-alt both need to
be up and running long before then--whatever happens with imc-cms, I am sure
we will be able to migrate over once that whole situation is resolved.
Certainly since phillyimc just launched and has a virtually bug-free drupal
site up it makes sense to go that route for the immediate future. With all
that work done with a functioning site we could be up and running in a
matter of weeks or months if the drupaltechs begin to collaborate. There are
some things the phillyimc site still lacks that drupal modules can offer,
such as photogalleries, vid/foto slideshows, etc (modules which I have
collected at the lpimc-dev.wikispaces.com site :) but overall it is a great
accomplishment and 1000 times improved over the previous mir cms. I guess I
am just saying drupal makes sense, realistically, if we want to get a site
up and running relatively soon so there is something to show for. That is
how we feel in Lancaster, and why we are getting flustered. People are
generally excited, but waiting for the site--and our most active tech is in
a different state and hard to get ahold of, so the process is drawn out.
