The aim of the site, as I see it, is to be a crossroads for 
information about positive alternatives to the current 
social/economic/political systems (collecting the vast amount of 
information about these things that's spread out all over the web 
into one easily-searchable place) and also a place for people and 
organizations who builid those alternatives to get to now each other 
and enhance their work by working together.  That's a long 
explanation and we could all come up with something more concise, but 
those are the words my tired mind are putting to it right now.
