[Imc-alternatives] okay, what do we have to do to get this to happen?

So far I think I'm the only person whose really stepped up and suggested
Drupal, and I'm not much of a coder, I only know the interface
particularly well.
I myself would be interested in learning Django & Python but have only
done initial tutorial babysteps with no real direction or impetus.
What I think this project is lacking is a sense of direction, and
content. I could work more on putting together the initial Drupal site
as simply the newswire with comments.
That way if we have content producers out there they can participate,
then we could see if the imc-cms cakePHP project is going anywhere
and/or work to develop something
that works with a python development environment.
I think the most important thing the IMC network in general could be
developing is a set of interlocking API's that would enable us to share
content easier, to flag wingnut spam (not necessarily to censor it, but
to identify it so it can be treated differently, basically I mean the
ranting cross-posts that seem to pop up on every IMC). To create some
kind of secure profile/publishing identity that could maintain some
level of anonymity (ok, this might be stretching it).
Anyways, I'm not too concerned with information sharing as far as a
technological project, the web seems to be able to propogate information
quite easily, what I'm really interested in and why I've been interested
in Alternatives IMC would be a global resource sharing/coordinating
network, which I think the alternatives IMC would be in a good position
to help experiment with or propagate. The article I wrote and posted as
a test kind of highlights initial brainstorms I had.
I just wanted to say I'd be interested in working in whatever
environment. I think the Drupal stuff is just there to tide us over and
get something up and running as far as a publishing wire. We need to
work on theming and the like.
As far as the IMC network as a whole I'd like to see us build bridges
between sites and API's to interweave them, or maybe just standard RSS
feed fields that can be mapped between sites. I'll be working on this
locally using mainly Drupal but I'd like to see it work between sites
and IMC to pioneer the building of open software in align with
statements like the Franklin Street Statement.
