Yes, thanks for that. We (or at least me) are familar with WiserEarth. I
fully support what they are doing, but sadly the WiserPlatform is in fact
just a snap shot of their code and isn't being maintained nor updated in
line with the WiserEarth.org site.

Hopefully their OpenWiser API stuff will provide nice access to all their
data as planned. Could come in handy for lots of things :)

WiserEarth is built using Symfony a PHP5 rapid web development framework
similar to CakePHP that has been mentioned here before.

All Hub Tech Team devs (which doesn't include me, I know lots of stuff, but
I don't code) are are python heads hence going for Pinax (which is built
with Django, a python rapid web development framework).
