[Imc-aotearoa-video] Calling it a day

Kia ora koutou katoa

I've been doing a lot of thinking and I realized that the only thing
I'm still actively putting into Aotearoa Indymedia is my opinion. And
since that opinion seems to diverge so radically from most of the
people that are contributing more practically, I've decided it's time
to call it a day. I've been thinking about stepping back from Indy
since before the convergence in Tamaki Makaurau and now seems to be a
good time to do it.

Aotearoa Indymedia has been blessed with the time and passion of so
many great activists. There is a good core crew around the country
now, doing Indy stuff as part of other activist work. Despite having
to spend time resolving the odd conflict, there has been co-operation
between centres in Aotearoa on various print, radio and video
projects, in ways that would have seemed impossibly ambitious in 1999,
the year that the first Indymedia.org site went online. Whatever
community projects I end up getting involved in, I will always need to
propogate news about what we're up to, and Indymedia will always be
one channel for that.

But for now I need to withdraw my volunteering hours, so I will be
signing off all the AIM email lists, and new admins will be needed for
some of the lists too. Good luck with the migration folks. I will
watch with interest.
