[Imc-arizona] Print media and local outreach

Greetings,

I moved back to Tucson last August, and I have participated in some
local actions, including the anti-AFTA engagement. I am interested in
starting a local Indymedia print publication. When I lived in
Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, we had a print publication called the
Public-I. I have some copies to show around as an example.

Another idea I have about promoting independent media in Tucson is
some kind of community outreach program. Perhaps we could work through
local community groups, churches, and other outlets to hold some
meetings and educational seminars. We could, for example, show Big
Noise's 4th World War at a community center, and make sure that local
churches and community organizations carried the message about the
meeting. Of critical importance would be reaching a broad public
audience--one that might not even be aware of the indy media movement.

I'd like to know where and when the next strategy meeting will be, so
we can discuss these ideas.

Ciao,
John.
