ATLANTA –December 19, 2007– ART PAPERS’ 9th annual Art Auction, Atlanta’s 
largest and most exciting visual art event, will return to Mason Murer Fine Art 
on February 2nd, 2008 from 7 to 10 PM. This annual silent auction is ART PAPERS’ 
largest fundraiser. It is also the launch event of the Atlanta Gallery Association’s 
ATLart[08]. 

With some 350 renowned and emerging artists contributing to this year’s auction, 
guests will be afforded the unparalleled opportunity to view, discover, and purchase 
truly exceptional art works.  

ART PAPERS offers participating artists up to 35% of the purchase price of their 
work. Proceeds from the event support ART PAPERS’ programs—the award-winning 
ART PAPERS magazine and ART PAPERS LIVE!, the premier contemporary art lecture
series—and the development of exciting new print and online initiatives. ART PAPERS 
is a non-profit organization dedicated to the examination, development, and 
definition of art and culture in the world today. Its mission is to provide an 
independent and accessible forum for the exchange of perspectives on the role of 
contemporary art as a socially relevant and engaged discourse. 

Several of Atlanta’s finest restaurants will provide delicious food and beverages. 
The event will also feature the unique sound creations of local djs.  

The auction will be launched with an exclusive Collectors’ Preview on Friday, 
February 1st, where guests will join ART PAPERS’ Editors and Board for a sneak 
peek at the work of some of Georgia’s most significant artists as well as rare
offerings by prominent national and international figures. A special selection of 
light eats and refreshments will be served while ten works will be offered for sale, 
prior to Saturday’s silent auction.


Major funding for ART PAPERS is provided by the Fulton County
Commission, Atlanta, Georgia, under the guidance of the Fulton 
County Arts Council, the Metropolitan Atlanta Art Fund, and the Andy 
Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. ART PAPERS is funded in part 
by the National Endowment for the Arts, the City of Atlanta Office of 
Cultural Affairs, and the Georgia Council for the Arts through the 
appropriations for the Georgia General Assembly. The Council is 
a Partner Agency for the National Endowment of the Arts. ART PAPERS
