as short item at Antodote 9

HI folks,
Um, Ant & I watched all the short reel compilation stuff last night from
Oceania Indymedia (all about 3-7 minutes long) and didn't feel any one
thing that we watched stood out above the others as something to screen
as a short item(s). They are all good - but some seem a bit dated now
(anti-war protest footage, refugee detention centre footage in
Australia.) Great stuff that would have been good to see a year ago -
but ideally we could find something relevant to people today too or they
would need to be introduced with a context. Other video clips had either
hard to hear sound or voices or scratchy epileptic editing effects over
it which made them irritating to watch.
At a pinch, we could show one/some of these things, but we didn't feel
that compelled by most of them. Which sounds a bit harsh I know. But
other people are welcome to help pitch in decision making too please.
So, at this stage, it's just the feature length we have, which is a
problem because the folks at the Classic won't be that impressed that we
don't have a break for people to buy drinks at! (ah, capitalism eh?!)
So, if you have any bright ideas, or can contact anyone you know who has
made something and would like to showcase it, that would be great -
local works would be nice. We only have a week.
Or does anyone in Wellington or Dunedin Indymedia have some short stuff?
Kim
