Hi guys
Just an email to sum up where we're at...
>From my POV we should really try to get this doco done before the end of the
year - a) for relevancy and b) for fulfilling the grant criteria and c) to
stop it fucking (excuse my language) dragging on and on and on
The next screening may be unrealistic - but the feb screening 2005 might be
possible.
I don't mind working hard at it over the next 2 months - a few hours each
day - to help pull it together.
Here's what needs to be done from my POV
1. Shooting
3 main things to do from my POV:
Carter interview
newspaper headlines from campaign for cutaways
vox pops with non-voters
Carter is being done on Friday - can we get the other stuff done next week
maybe? I'll help.
2. transcripts
I don't think we can do the lot - IMHO - 25 hours is too much and pointless
We need to do the interviews with Banks/Hubbard/Fletcher/Hucker ASAP
We then need to do interviews with Rod Donald/Chris Trotter/ Jack Vowles/
Edwin De Ronde/Helena Catt/Sue Neal/Chris Carter
Some of these are done - most aren't.
I'll do some.
3. The rest
I suggest we work out our segments for a 40 minute doco - say 8-10 segments.
Decide what we need in each segment and then go back to the footage and log
the relevant shots.
4. I suggest we write a rough voice-over for each section and use that to
help guide us.
5. I suggest that we edit some of the easy sections asap while we're paper
editing the rest
6. We all need a clear idea that we all agree on about the structure of the
doco so that we don't waste time trying to make 5 different docos fit into
one. Should we have a meeting soon?
Ok my next email will be about structure ideas.
Chloe
