[imc-auckland-video] THE TAKE for Indymedia fundraising?

Hi Geraldene, I've had a quick look at the really good website - yeah,
looks good.
When you say "FUNDRAISER" I guess you mean something different than the
regular INDYMEDIA Screenings? What did you have in mind? Any suggestions
for contacts who I can call about putting it on in AKLD? (Theatres,
procedures, costings).

The next INDYMEDIA screening is scheduled at the Classic for Sunday 12
December and we could definitely use something like this for that. So
I'll ask permission to screen it but it seems to me you think it might
be more of a "festival" film? No?

I don't feel in a position to organise anything bigger this year (busy
with doco, exams, etc.). But if it was just for our grand finale end of
year screening, that could be good.

I think we may have got tied up putting on another screening of OUTFOXED
when we also need to be looking at programming for the next screening.

Kim

Hey all

This is a suggestion I've mentioned to a few people and would dearly
love to follow up myself but won't be able to for the next few months -
thinking though of all you keen initiative takers out there...

Finn, Clare and I were lucky enough to catch a preview of 'The Take' as
an Indymedia fundraiser in Melbourne

I have no idea of the distribution plans for the documentary in
Aotearoa, but figured there might be a chance to screen the film in
locations as an Indymedia fundraiser...?

I'm sure in the wake of The Corporation, Fahrenheit 911, and Supersize
Me we could get a good audience for video screenings of the doco. It's
a better piece than "Outfoxed" which is a great documentary itself in
terms of topic, and has attracted a repeat screening in Auckland - no
small thanks to Kim's publicity efforts.

If the documentary's available, it'll need a group of people to organise
it. What do you think - any takers? (Apologies for being a 'suggester'
rather than a 'doer' on this one).

Cheers, G
