excuse the delay in replying. haven't checked my mail for a few days.
good grief. have u had a sense of humour by-pass? to call someone officious 
when you are attempting to praise them is funny,especially in context.
my comment was light, you are reading "terse,unkind and sarcastic" into it. 
(I'll accept glib and facetious though).
Get thee to a dictionary is a play on the biblical exhortation of "get thee 
to a nunnery".
